Implants

A permanent, fixed solution for missing teeth that looks and feels like a natural tooth

About Dental Implants

If you’re missing one tooth, several teeth, or need an extraction soon, dental implants offer a durable, natural-feeling solution that restores both function and appearance. At Tinto Dentistry on St. Clair, we provide a range of tooth replacement options that prioritize comfort, functionality, and a pain-free experience. A dental implant is a titanium post that acts as an artificial root, providing a secure foundation for a custom-made crown, bridge, or to stabilize a denture. Unlike dentures that rest on the gums or bridges that require shaving down healthy teeth, implants fuse with the jawbone for unmatched stability and a more natural feel. Our experienced team is here to help you find the best solution for your smile.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

  • Natural look and feel
  • Eat and speak confidently
  • Protect your jawbone
  • Long-term tooth replacement
  • Low maintenance

Our Process

Consultation

We assess your jawbone and oral health to ensure you’re a candidate for implants. Sometimes we require additional imaging such as CBCT or “CAT” scans to help determine eligibility.

Implant Surgery

  1. Pre- OP: check your health such as blood pressure and sometimes glucose levels, making sure you’re feeling good
  2. The implant is placed into the jawbone using a sterile and safe technique. More information is available here: surgical dentistry services.

Healing & Osseointegration

Over the next few months, your body heals around the implant and actually grows bone that “bonds” with the implant making a solid and strong foundation.

3D Scan to Fabricate a New Tooth

Once we check to make sure the body has fully healed, we finish the process by taking a 3D scan so that our expert lab can fabricate a custom tooth that will be screwed into the implant. This tooth will be tailored specifically for your smile and to ensure long lasting results

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You’ve got
questions, we’ve
got answers.

Still have questions?

How long do dental implants last?

With good oral hygiene and regular checkups, we know that implants can last a very long time, with some implants lasting more than 20+ years

Is getting a dental implant painful?

The procedure is done under local anesthesia and is typically no more uncomfortable than a standard filling. Most patients report minimal discomfort afterward. Dr Tinto likes to say that you have already done the hard part by getting the tooth out, placing the implant is significantly less painful!

How much do dental implants cost in Toronto?

Cost depends on the number of teeth replaced and any additional procedures needed (such as bone grafting). We’ll provide a detailed estimate during your consultation.

Can I get a dental implant the same day as my tooth extraction?

Sometimes, yes! In specific cases, an implant can be placed immediately after extraction. We’ll evaluate your situation to determine if this is an option beforehand and let you know of your options before we even get started

Are dental implants covered by insurance?

Some plans offer coverage for implants. Some plans don’t have any, while some plans will pay what the cost of a “bridge” would be. It really is dependent on the individual insurance plan. But we’re here to help and to send estimates beforehand. We also have 0% interest financing options that can help make payments affordable.
